Surgery
Young or old, pets sometimes need surgical intervention and MarketPlace is a hospital you can trust. Our skilled surgeons and advanced technologies offer only the best:
- Laser surgery—Fast healing for surgical procedures such as spay, neuter, and corrective ear surgery.
- Electrosurgery—Limits blood loss by cauterizing the blood vessel and providing acute surgical cutting precision. It can be used to cut only, for blood vessel cauterization, or a blend of both.
- Orthopedic surgery—A board-certified surgeon skilled in cruciate repairs, bone plates, and hip and patella surgeries is a regular part of our surgical team. Many bone fractures can be repaired by Dr. Frace, who offers years of experience working in referral practices performing bone fracture repair.
- Sevoflurane gas anesthesia—For faster induction and emergence from anesthesia. This is the newest of the gas anesthesia and is the current choice in human medicine.
- Isoflurane gas anesthesia—Available for some of the exotics and very small avian species.
- Anesthesia monitoring—Our new Cardell anesthesia monitor system records vital signs (body temperature, heart rate, ECG, oxygen saturation, carbon dioxide level, and respiration rate) to ensure your pet’s safety and well being during surgery. We can include these values in your pet’s medical chart.
In addition to laser surgery and electrosurgery, we use heated surgical tables and recovery cages.
Pain Management
Pain management is the cornerstone of compassionate care. Our business is to prevent suffering in all animals, and today’s pain medications make that effort safer and more effective.
